The trick: Pilot unit conversions use four easy multipliers. Memorise these four and you'll never reach for a calculator.
• 1 kg = 2.2 lb • 1 NM = 1.15 SM (NM + 15%)
• 1 m = 3.3 ft • 1 US gal ≈ 4 lb (Jet-A)
Worked example: 50 kg of luggage → 50 × 2.2 = 110 lb. Going the other way? 110 lb ÷ 2.2 = 50 kg.
How to play. Each round is 12 questions. Start in CADET mode — convert one unit forwards (kg→lb, NM→SM, m→ft, gal→L). Once that's automatic, move to PILOT for the reverse direction (lb→kg, SM→NM, ft→m, L→gal). When you've got both flips dialled in, try TOWER — two-step fuel-planning problems (kg of fuel → US gallons) against the clock with a bonus point. Beat the top 10 and you'll be invited to add your callsign to the leaderboard.
