FUEL CHECK
Fuel Burn & Planning
Created by pilot@gavingeorge.co.uk
Instructions ▾

Weight ⇄ volume (avgas). Avgas weighs about 6 lb per gallon.
Pounds = gallons × 6  ·  Gallons = pounds ÷ 6.

Fuel burn. Fuel used = burn rate × time (burn rate in gallons-per-hour, GPH).
• Used = GPH × hours   • Endurance = fuel ÷ GPH   • Burn rate = fuel ÷ hours

Always keep a reserve. Plan to land with fuel to spare — this game uses a 30-minute reserve. Fuel needed = GPH × (trip time + ½ hour).

How to play. Each round is 12 questions. Start with CADET mode — just convert gallons to pounds and back. Once those conversions feel automatic, move to PILOT for full burn problems. When the penny drops and the trick is second nature, try TOWER — plan a full trip with a 30-minute reserve, against the clock. Beat the top 10 and you'll be invited to add your callsign to the leaderboard.
